This is the sixth in a series of articles that, when complete, will explain how the Prophets concealed the first of seven messages hidden in the Hebrew Scriptures by their use of the ancient Hebrew idioms “build a house,” “raise up a seed,” and “make a name.” The first five articles in the series appeared in the July 1996, October 1997, October 2005, January and April 2006 issues. Another article that should have been attributed to the series appeared in the October 2002 issue. This article tracks the promise through the blessing of Moses and explains how the True Believer, by becoming an heir of the promise, also becomes a priest in his own parabolic “tabernacle” under the terms of the New Covenant.
The first answer explains how the year of the “Ram’s Horn”—that is, the year of Jubilee—would have jeopardized the inheritance of the “redeemer” mentioned in Ruth 4:6. The second shows how the normal translation of Romans 5:15 leads to the erroneous belief that “the sin” and “the transgression” of Adam and Eve resulted in the physical death of the animals. The final answer deals with Paul’s statement in 1 Timothy 2:14 that Eve, and not Adam, was deceived into sinning.
